Frome College has announced that there will be a Prom Night this year, although unlike in previous years when the school has booked out Centre Parcs over at Longleat, it will be on school grounds.

Nevertheless it is another sign of returning to more normal times - and may be another boost for local beauty salons and nail bars.

The Prom night will be on July 19 and will be in Futures, the College's Post-16 building.

Meanwhile today (May 17) the Principal also wrote to parents advising them that, in keeping with government advice, students will no longer be required to wear masks in the classroom or in communal areas.

Teachers and members of staff will continue to wear face coverings where social distancing is not possible and pupils will still need to wear face coverings on the bus travelling to and from college.
