Frome Medical Practice is launching an online support group for parents whose children suffer with eczema, which can often flare up in the winter months.

The group is aimed at parents of children aged 15 and under and will be facilitated by Dr Alex Clark. Consisting of three one hour-long sessions (November, December and January) the group will be a mixture of learning more about eczema and it's management and treatment, as well as an opportunity for parents to share their experiences with each other.

Dr Clark commented, "Eczema can be a distressing condition for children and parents, especially when a child is experiencing a flare up. We often see this happening more regularly in the winter and so we have set this group up in order to help parents with learning how to manage eczema on a day to day basis, what we call 'maintenance', but to also provide them with different tools to treat eczema if it does flare up."

"We hope that by creating a safe and informative environment for parents they will also feel able to share their experiences with each other. We are looking forward to the sessions starting and if they go well then we hope to be able to hold them again in the future."
