Frome' s MP, David Warburton has been absent from the House for 470 days.

According to one study this is the longest EVER wait for an inquiry into an MP's conduct.

They report that while slow, the average wait for a report into misconduct of an MP by the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme is 216 days.

Frome Town Council passed a highly unusual vote asking him to resign back in April asking how could it be that if he was not actually sitting in parliament and has not been seen in Frome for up to two years, he still put in an expenses claim of £250,000. The No Confidence vote in the MP was greeted with applause HERE

" We need & deserve a by-election " insisted one campaigner, but that can only be triggered if he does resign as MP or over 10 per cent of eligible voters in the constituency petition for one.

Mr Warburton was elected as Conservative MP for Frome in 2015 with a big, 19,000 count majority.

Allegations of misconduct - involving loans, drug use, and sexually harassment - were revealed in a newspaper in April 2022 and he was admitted to hospital.

Then in In February this year it was further claimed that he failed to disclose a £25,000 donation from a billionaire, to have used a forged document in an £800,000 mortgage application, and to have concealed an interest in a property firm. There is no mention of any update on the page of the local Conservative party group.
