Frome has won another national shout out.

This time The Sunday Times newspaper has named it as one of the prettiest towns to go Christmas shopping.

Notable shops, the independent Raves From the Grave music store and the weekly Wednesday flea and antique market; while the Archangel is a recommended place to stay.

But the continued promotion of Frome as a 'best - of' is causing continued problems in terms of locals being able to afford to live in town.

One Nub News reader told us that her rent had gone up up £350 a month in just 18 months.

She said: " We looked at moving out but for the same rent we would have to move into a much smaller place or out of Frome so they basically have us over a barrel and in the last 5 years since we moved here we have also been priced out of the buyers market as well so we are pretty much stuck unless we move away."

The article does talk about Frome being second-home territory, and there is also a big list of holiday rentals, if you put Frome in as a search for properties in the town over a 1,000 places come up.
