This coming weekend is World Mental Health Day and this year the theme is : 'Mental Health in an Unequal World'.

This theme was chosen by a global vote including WFMH members who state : "The world is increasingly polarized, with the very wealthy becoming wealthier, and the number of people living in poverty still far too high. "

In Frome there is also a unique event, the free to attend Frome Multicltural Festival at the Cheese and Grain. According to the Frome Times, the town has an incredible 58 nationalities and some of those will be celebrated with food and performances in the hall from 11am until 2pm.

Activities include caligraphy, Tibetan sound healing and Polish folk art.

Meantime the campaign to save the mental health St Andrew's Ward in Wells continues. The ward is expected to close in 2022, with its 14 beds relocated to a new building in Yeovil.

The Save St Andrew's Ward Campaign says that the closure is short-sighted and is calling on the Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group to retain the ward and keep services local.
