The newly formed Frome Renting Alliance to hold first public event in the town on Thursday 9th June Fair Housing for Frome is calling for renters, landlords and letting agents to come together and join the Frome Renting Alliance at its first public event on 9th June.
The new alliance has been formed for people to listen to each other and discuss the rental issues which are leading to serious housing problems within our community. As the housing and cost of living crisis deepens many renters in Frome are struggling to make ends meet. Rents are rising and landlords are faced with mounting costs, often leading them to question the value of letting out their properties.
These factors alongside the apparent diminishing numbers of rental properties in Frome, combined with excess demand and higher property prices are creating the perfect storm. The lack of available social housing in Frome only makes the situation worse. Fair Housing for Frome has long thought that bringing landlords, renters and letting agents together in an alliance will start to ease some of the problems. So on Thursday 9th June the Frome Renting Alliance (FRA) is holding its first public event to gather people who care about the desperate renting crisis that has been growing in Frome over the last few years.
For this first public event Stephen Fowler, Consultant and Trainer with decades of experience in the private rented sector will be speaking. Stephen's expertise will be invaluable to landlords and renters alike and his experience of training lettings professionals will mean agents can also gain insights.
The meeting will offer a safe space for people to tell their stories and be heard, so that FRA can start to build better relations between those hoping to stay living in this town and those offering a service that enables this to happen. There will be a monthly programme of events called 'Frome Renting Alliance Hosts…' featuring an expert from different areas of the renting sector. Participants will have an opportunity to put questions to the speaker and then discuss them further together. The first event takes place on Thursday 9th June at 7.30pm at the Cheese and Grain. There will be tea and coffee and a bar available if anyone wants a drink, please come and support this important first event. For more information email [email protected]
