HSBC banking groups announce new operating hours for over 120 branches but NOT in Frome

HSBC, which has 441 branches across the UK, said 122 of their branches will see opening hours cut by more than 30 per cent, although 148 branches will see a 30 minute increase. 

The plan is expected to be implemented by the end of the month.  

The branch in Frome is NOT expected to change, its opening hours still posted today (June 4) at 9.30 - 3.30 Monday to Friday.

The HSBCs with shorter hours are listed as : Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire, Barkingside, London , Beverley, Yorkshire , Canary Wharf, London, Christchurch, Dorset, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, Dartford, Kent, Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, Epsom, Surrey

Folkestone, Kent, Harpenden, Hitchin and Hertford, all in Hertfordshire, Hornchurch, London,

Lowestoft, Suffolk, Meadowhall, Yorkshire, Paignton, Devon, Penrith, Cumbria, Port Talbot, Neath Port Talbot

Selby, Yorkshire, St Austell, Cornwall, Tonbridge, Kent, Trowbridge, Wallington, London, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, Weymouth, Dorset

Frome is still relatively well served by banks and building societies.

The local branch of Barclays in Frome has also avoided the current proposed round of closures.

Barclays has said it will shut another 27 bank branches, bringing the total number of its closures to 103 this year.

The bank had already said 63 of its outlets would shut in 2022.
