Frome RFC kick off season opener this Saturday at home and call on the Frome Faithful…

This Saturday Frome RFC kick off their 2021/22 league campaign in South West 1 East when they welcome Wiltshire side, Marlborough RFC to The Lane.

We caught up with Frome RFC Head Coach, Toby Culff as he prepares his squad for the league opener.

"Promotion to Level 6 took a lot of hard work and determination from this group of players, over several years. The way they came back from a close and bitterly disappointing playoff loss to Buckingham, to win promotion at the very next opportunity the following year, showed resilience, perseverance and ambition.

The nucleus of the squad has been together a long time, has stuck together through some tough spells, and has celebrated together after some memorable victories. They're close on the pitch and close off it. Despite a strange and unsettling period, I'm not therefore surprised that they've stayed together and worked hard together....again....in their preparation for this new season.

I am biased, of course, but I believe the Club is fortunate to be represented by these players and that they're throughly deserving of the opportunity to take on the new challenges of Level 6 rugby. These are mostly home-grown Frome lads, living and working in the town, training and playing with commitment and passion for their local team. We should all be proud to get behind them and they're deserving of a full and noisy side line when they take on Marlborough.

It's going to the first of many testing, physical, exhausting encounters, and the town's support could make the crucial difference. We would love to see you there on Saturday if you're able to attend."
