Campaigners fighting for a different vision for the last town centre space in Mendip have appealed to the council to " Do the right thing" and not ruin the opportunity for a multi use space.

Mayday Saxonvale has been fighting plans to turn the heart of Frome into a housing area with limited commercial space.

The latest push to gets its alternative plan seen and agreed is a film by a former BBC producer and reporter about the 12 and a half acres of land in Frome.

It was shown at last weekend's community action day at the Silk Mill in Frome and pits the community- led Mayday Saxonvale plans versus the Mendip District Council high density housing plans for Saxonvale.

Come on Mendip please do the right thing and listen to the people of Frome. This development has got to be about more than just profit. " Frome Nub News has done many stories about the future of the site. You can read our archive about the fight over the heart of the town HERE: about the potential economic boost for Frome
