Frome St John's students were at Rowden House enjoying all the sunshine at a wonderful, and very colourful, shared tea party

By Susie Watkins 17th Jun 2022

The pupils were at the home as part of the Happiness Hunt - bringing schools and care homes together through creative exchanges run by Make the Sunshine

Geoff's real life jokes and riddles brought crowds of cheering, a student from St John's made Mary a beautiful scarf to say thank you for all her knitting, and there was some beautiful singing and solos.

It was made extra special thanks to all the time and effort put in by staff at St John's First School and Rowden House, not to mention the most outrageously glorious rainbow cake from The Nestcake Caravan and a wonderful performance from Shoebox Theatre Company that had everyone giggling.

The event was made possible thanks to Frome Town Council who also came along to support the day.

Karen the manager at Rowden House described how "the happiness hunt boxes really kept residents going during lockdown - it made such a difference". while Nicole Simmington, lead teacher for the project at St John's said : " It was like Christmas every time a box arrived"
