An early morning power cut at the Sainsbury's area of Frome saw the fire service out helping to sort the situation.

There was a power cut which impacted the supermarket and set off all the fire alarms, and was also thought to be responsible for problems with the current set of traffic lights in the area.

At the nearby Masons Arms they also reported no power with Bristol Water engineers on the road alongside the pub needing temporary lights until July 14.

At just before 9am on July 13, the power company put a message on social media telling customers they were on their way.

It said: " This is a message from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. We are calling to let you know that you may be experiencing a loss of electricity to your home. Our engineers are on their way to begin investigations and we expect your power to be restored by nine thirty am. We will keep you updated until your power is restored. If you require any additional support, please don't hesitate to call us on one zero five. "
