Tonight (October 26) Frome Town Council will be looking at how the council itself is running, with some good news about the money side of things.

At the Oversight Committee Meeting at 7pm they will be looking at the staff changes at the town hall, and the budgets.

In the agenda notes councillors are told:

"At 30 September - mid-way through the 2023-24 financial year - most account codes look set to fall within budget. A few exceptions which, assuming no unexpected expenditure in the next six months, should result in a surplus at year end. This is useful as we start to draft the budget for 2024-25."

Councillors will also be considering this from The Leveller newspaper about how Frome compares to other towns in terms of the level of the precept, which is part of how next year's council tax bill will be set.
