Frome Frome Town Council is to consider a very rare vote of no confidence in no show Frome MP David Warburton - with frustration at his being missing for months and refusing to come and speak to them.

In a rare case of local politics getting involved in national politics, it comes following another series of allegations about his conduct eleven months since he has been actively voting as the town's MP.

Frome Nub News has again tried to find out the status of reported on-going investigations into the behaviour of the MP, which include sexual harassment and most recently, supplying a fraudulent document, to obtain a seven figure loan.

We were told by the senior press officer : "Parliament's Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) operates on the basis of confidentiality for the benefit of all parties. Therefore, we cannot provide any information on any complaint, including whether or not a complaint has been received." The first allegations against Mr Warburton were in April 2022 and he has not been seen in Frome since.

The vote will take place at the Frome Town Council main meeting on February 22. Close to two and a half thousand people have now signed a tongue in cheek but with serious intent, petition asking where the MP is, the Finding David campaign HERE

The note on the council agenda.

"The Town Council very rarely comments on national matters, or even issues outside of Frome but we have grown increasingly concerned about the lack of representation from our MP, David Warburton. We have therefore decided to make this exception. The role of an MP is to represent the interests and concerns of their constituents in the House of Commons. Somerton and Frome's current MP, David Warburton, has not voted in parliament for over 10 months and has not spoken in parliament for over 12 months. In April last year allegations of drug-taking and sexual misconduct were made against him, and an investigation into these is ongoing. In addition, he is now facing further allegations of financial misconduct. The people of Frome deserve and need, especially during the current cost-of-living crisis, effective, committed and transparent representation in parliament in line with the Nolan Principles.

The agenda goes on to add: "He has not voted in parliament since 28 March 2022, and not spoken in parliament since 11 January 2022. In addition, as far as we can tell he has not held a single surgery in Frome nor attended a public event all of last year. He also recently declined the opportunity to come and speak to the Town Council."
