Frome Town Football Club has launched a crowd funder campaign to save the football club - and in a clever twist one lucky donor will get to name the stadium.

But before footballing wags suggests the possibility of Football McFoot Face : the rename will have to be pre- agreed with the football managers.

The Club wants to raise £20,000 and they are offering fans, or any one in Frome who wants to see the club carrying on playing, several ways to support them.

Firstly people can just donate on the crowdfunding site:

Here: the donation site

The first 300 donations, large or small will earn

a Frome Town FC commemorative club pin badge.

For those donating £50 or more, their names will go on a seat at the stadium and they will be added to the new 'Wall of Thanks'.

Then there is the sparkler : You can name the team's stadium for the 2020/21 season.

One lucky person from those who pledges £50 will be chosen at random and given the chance to name the Badgers Hill site.

It can be your name, a name of choice or on behalf of a company or charity but the club does warn it will need to be approved.

Finally Frome FC is also appealing for 19 #BA11 Saviours , donations of £2,000+ from fans or companies to buy every ticket to a designated match next season.

The Club explained why it is crowdfunding.

It said: " Every year is a financial struggle for non-league clubs, but this year we have been overtaken by unforeseen events.

"Whilst the health of our players, staff and supporters is at the forefront of our minds, we still need to bring this season to and end, with the sad knowledge there will be no more football played.

"We have been very open all season that the club needs further investment to continue to survive. Now that we are clear on the clubs league situation, we are in need of your support.

"All our contractual agreements, pitch costs and utility bills are still ongoing, so we are facing a larger financial predicament. As a club, we rely on heavily on our match day income and the valuable contributions made by our Supporters Club and proud sponsors.

"With the club house, our main source of income, also closed there is no revenue coming in across the bar or through the turnstiles."
