The management of two local Frome care homes have given the latest update on their status as regards the coronavirus pandemic today (April 14).

Somerset Care has praised the staff in the homes which they run in the town and said that they currently have no confirmed cases in either Rowden House or Critchill Court.

In a statement to Nub News, Somerset Care said:

"The current situation with the coronavirus is challenging for everyone across the country.

"We have had no confirmed cases in either Critchill Court or Rowden House, and continue to implement protocol as outlined by Public Health England and are following their advice.

"The reaction from our staff has been fantastic, who are working hard to make sure that the residents are well looked after.

"Our residents remain in good spirits, while obviously it is hard not having visitors, they are taking it in their stride. We're looking forward to being able to welcome families back into our homes and hope everyone is staying safe."

When the lockdown was first introduced Nub News wrote about the residents of Critchill Court and how they were communicating to the outside with posters from residents.
