Fifteen years ago Frome had a trampolining club and if one youngster in the town is any indication, the revival of that club will be a new high.

Eleven year old Isabella Hunt spent the summer at the England double mini trampolining squad and her enthusiasm for the sport continues to climb, with hopes that other keen youngsters will join her.

Her mum, is Sarah Hunt, the head coach at Evolution trampoline club, which is coming home to Frome, with a total of four trampolines for aspiring youngsters at the leisure centre.

She told us : " We used to be based in Frome but moved away some years ago. After time away we have decided to come back to our roots in Frome and start some sessions at the leisure centre.

"Our club is a community, not for profit club, we plough all profits back into the club and have been really lucky to have some amazing performers. This year alone we have a GB athlete and three who have been invited to the England DMT squad which is super exciting."

When it was previously a Frome Leisure Centre it was called Frome Bounce Club, while Sarah herself competed at the junior World Championships when she was a pupil at Frome College. She added : " I would love to grow the sport again in the town."

Isabella, who is a pupil at Selwood, trains alongside Liberty Gymnastics club and even managed to keep up her fitness under lockdown, training over Zoom calls to maintain her strength and conditioning ready for getting back to real training.

Sarah said: "Izzie has worked so hard, she is dedicated to her sports and loves being active both with gym and trampolining. As a mum I am exceedingly proud and thankful for the work all her coaches have put in."

Frome Nub News is planning on visiting the club for an update once they have moved their equipment. They are hoping to re-start the club in Frome properly in September.
