Free fireworks in Frome will return with a bang

Following the disappointing but necessary cancellation of the fireworks on Saturday November 2 due to the weather warnings from the Met Office, Frome Town Council has confirmed that the rescheduled free firework display will now take place on Saturday January 25.

It's Burn's Night, it's Chinese New Year and it's really close to Blue Monday, dubbed the saddest day of the year – all great reasons for a community event.

Following the launch of last year's fireworks event, the town opted for the return of another spectacular display as part of the People's Budget Events vote, so Frome Town Council is happy to be able to confirm this new date and want to thank the people of Frome for their patience.

Mayor of Frome, Mark Dorrington, said: "We were all disappointed with the postponement of the fireworks but we're looking forward to banishing those January blues with a magnificent display.

"It's all for a good cause so we hope everyone can make the new date."

The Rotary clubs will be collecting donations on the evening, which will then be distributed to Frome charities and projects.
