The Somerset Farmers' Market is looking forward to their third open air market in Frome since the lockdown started to ease earlier this summer. Once again, courtesy of the Cheese & Grain, the market is taking place on the outside patio area at the side of the building.

Louise Hall is the Market organiser and she cannot wait for the event to open on Saturday morning.

'Confidence is starting to come back, not only with our producers but also the public,' says Louise. 'There can be fewer safer environments than an open air market. However, as we have done from the post lockdown resumption we have ensured that everyone is entering a safe environment, with sanitiser stations, controlled numbers and a one way system. Our August market in Frome was extremely successful and the system worked both well and safely, winning the approval of both producers and our customers.'

'We are particularly excited about this Saturday,' adds Louise. We have got one of the largest line-ups of producers in Frome that we have had for a very long time including highly popular local producers Mere Fish Farm, Root Connections, Beechridge Farm and Fussels Fine Foods.'

'Everyone is asking about Water Buffalo,' says Louise. 'The great news is that it looks like they will be returning in October.'

The event takes place at the Cheese and Grain patio area this Saturday between 9am and 1pm. For anyone coming from outside Frome, as well as public transport there is parking available in the market yard itself.

It is not just the producers who are looking forward to Saturday. William Weller is Managing Partner of a local leading business, solicitors Thatcher + Hallam. The law firm also sponsor the Somerset Farmers' Market.

'As a local businessman, I am delighted to see an organisation like the Somerset Farmers' Market help attract shoppers back into our town centres. If you are lost for something to do this Saturday morning then pop on down to the patio at the Cheese & Grain. You will not be disappointed!'
