The display stopped Nub News (and plenty of others) in our tracks over Halloween.

But now Anthony William Hodges is going all out with everything he wants for Christmas, and that is a giant display leading to huge donations for charity.

Tony is planning BIG, in fact big and sweet, turning his house into a giant gingerbread house.

Tony said he has already got lots of support for his extreme home makeover at 26 The Butts.

He already has Homebase, Lidl and Asda on board, who are donating either raffle prizes, materials or lights, and he has asked several more.

And in order to make sure that this is one extravaganza that won't be missing Christmas he hopes to start this weekend.

Tony explained : " The reason I'm doing this is simply that for the last 15 years I've struggled with and beat bowel cancer, I've 39 operations, not all of them, were big surgeries (12 were). I've had so much help and support from so many people and communities over those years and now that my health is improving, I am in a place to give something back and I cant wait to start. "

Every penny raised will go to Cancer Research UK and he will be appearing in their fundraising marketing.

Tony is looking for someone to turn on the lights but he is also happy to accept all offers of help and donations including thoughts on who might like to help by making sweet decorations like candy canes, lollies, ginger bread figures.

If you can help in any way you can contact him with offers of help on 07960510638 or via his social page or you can drop in.
