Help for Frome youngsters who have been self harming - a new programme with therapy horses at the local Equi-valent Project

A new self harm rehabilitation service using the healing power of horses, with funding help from Somerset Community Foundation, and based close to Frome will be staring on February 21. 

They wrote to tell Nub News : We are excited to announce a new Self Harm Rehabilitation Program we will be running for young people aged 12-25, courtesy of our grant funding awarded to us by Somerset Community Foundation 

Students will be working with our highly experienced Psychotherapist Tina Burrows and our beautiful therapy horses in our safe, nurturing, natural environment. 

The program will run for 6-12 weeks on Mondays term time only.

These will be group sessions of up to 10 people of similar age and need.

Spaces are grant funded, but we ask for affordable donations or sponsorship to help pay the service forward to others also in need.

To apply for a space you must meet the following requirements…..

You MUST be living in the Mendip area (proof of address will be required) 

 Be working with and therefore able to be referred to us through either school, Dr's surgeries, Mind in Somerset, CAMHS or other social care or services.

The facility has just moved to a new site on the outer edge of Rudge.
