Superdrug in the centre of Frome has just got a bit bigger.

The floorspace at the store has now increased following a successful planning application back in September last year, (ref 2022/1345/LBC) to incorporate the stock room area into the general shopping space.

There is a new sign on the building, which was once half of the old Frome Post Office, too.

The planning application was for : " Extension of existing sales floor into ground floor stock room area by removing partition wall and double doors. Partition wall and doors were installed as part of previous retail fit out and do not hold any historic significance to the property. existing timber fascia panel to be redecorated black (as existing) with retails up to date signage installed - new conservation area style, sympathetic none illuminated individual letters, mounted on stainless steel spacers. Hanging sign to be replaced with new format content in existing location. "

The property is Grade II Listed, and in the planning ruling the officer noted that none of the internal works would have any impact on its historic fabric or further harm the historic plan form of the building.
