Frome roadworks began on April 14 on one of the most congested parts of the town.

There are now two way traffic signals on the A362 Christchurch Street East, as Scottish and Southern Power Distribution put in some new lines.

The disruption is already causing delays as the road is the main through fare down to three of the town's major supermarkets, Lidl, Marks &Spencers and Iceland.

The traffic signals are expected to be up until at least April 20.

Meanwhile work is still ongoing on Caxton Road in Frome. There is a temporary road closure for Brandwells to install new sewers in the area with work not expected to be completed until May 1.

Today (April 15) BT is putting up a new pole on at A361 Marston Road with traffic lights installed.

This work is expected to be completed by April 15.
