Supporters of the natural area of The Retreat in Frome are once again appealing for the town's voices to be heard to protect the area.

In August, the developers won their appeal to build on the Frome riverside site next to The Retreat. Opponents had argued that there was a long standing right of way along the river going back decades.

You can read the Local Democracy Report on that decision HERE: and where it leaves the status of any footpath.

Now Family Sutton Solutions Ltd / Mr & Mrs B Sutton

have applied to remove certain conditions of their appeal which were put in place to protect the river corridor and prevent overdevelopment. Opponents have until 23rd November (Tuesday) to send objections to [email protected], quoting reference number 2021/2437/VRC, stating 'I object' . Objections already posted on the Mendip planning board site include one which states : "The present site is being developed to its maximum , considering the access problems and we need safeguarding for

the future to make sure there is not increased traffic or over development."
