Planning news in and around Frome this week and in case you missed it, there are now three active campaigns against the possible building of homes on green spaces in the town.

A total of eight areas have been earmarked for up to 30 new homes.

Homeowners have applied to build a first floor side extension at 27 Woodhayes Road in Frome. Ref: No: 2021/0981/HSE .

An application has been put in for an extension at 94 Slipps Close in Frome, Ref. No: 2021/1224/PAH

The owners of 98 Vallis Road Frome want to build an extension and new porch.Ref. No: 2021/0979/HSE.

An application is in to create additional ground floor rooms and an upper balcony at The Oaks on Long Lane in Wanstrow. Ref. No: 2021/0946/HSE.

In Nunney, a planning application is in to build a driveway at

10 Flowerfield on the Old Road. That is under Ref. No: 2021/0959/HSE .

An application is in for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 on planning consent 2018/3104/FUL. That is for the development of The Weaver former pub site, at 6 The Butts in Frome . The Ref. No: 2021/1223/APP for the application to build three four-bedroomed homes there.

An application is in to create allotments on the playing field on Orchard Close in Coleford. Details under Ref. No: 2021/1026/FUL.

An application is in to vary condition 4 of planning approval 2020/1429/HSE which is to build a garage extension and convert a one bedroom annexe to be rented out under Airbnb at 2 Allen Cottages on Lullington Lane in Oldford.

The application is in for approval of details reserved by condition 9 (Noise Mitigation Method) on planning consent 2019/0209/REM the development at Selwood Printing Works on Caxton Road in Frome.

In Mells Lavender House on Top Lane has applied to fell a Robinia tree.

Ref. No: 2021/1202/TCA.

Monks Farm at 47 Lower Keyford in Frome wants to fell two Cypress trees, Ref. No: 2021/1276/TCA.

In Standerwick Palmers Farm on Rudge Lane has applied to create additional living space, build a new entrance/drive access and to put in a sewage treatment plant. Details under Ref. No: 2021/1141/HSE.

And Sunnyside Farm on Foghamshire Lane in Trudoxhill wants to build an agricultural above-ground slurry store. Details under Ref. No: 2021/1075/FUL.

Planning decisions made in the last two week by Mendip planners include:

The application to vary condition 2 (drawings) of planning approval 2019/2535/FUL, the proposed conversion and change of use of the former public house, the Ring of Bells into six dwellings, has been approved. The former pub is at 75 Broadway in Frome.

Approved, plans to build a detached dwelling including associated alterations to 9 The Mead in Rode , Frome.

Also approved, the building of a single-storey rear extension

at 16 Nunney Road in Frome.

Planners have decided that a proposed building of a single storey extension to the rear of the property at 28 Berkley Road in Frome is lawful.

They have approved details reserved by condition 4 (provision of a bat box) on planning consent 2020/1300/HSE, which is for two storey rear extension at 100 Broadway in Frome.

And planners have formally removed an application made in August 2018 for the development of Braeside Works on Wesley Close in Frome.

The outline application was for the demolition of existing structures and industrial buildings and change of use from B2 to C3 to deliver up to 10 residential dwellings.
