It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Frome

It is never too early to think about the festivities and Frome Town Council has a whole host of activities that you can get involved with in the run up to Christmas.
The annual Light the Night Christmas event is returning on Friday November 29 the whole town will come together to celebrate the Christmas light switch on following the spectacular lantern procession.
The evening will also feature stalls selling festive food and drinks, there will be carol singing, Father Christmas will have his grotto on the Market Cross and the lights will be switched on from the balcony at the George.
Would you like to build your own lantern and join in the procession? Several workshops have been organised by Frome lanterns, taking place on the following dates:
Saturday October 26, Trinity Church Hall 10am-12.30pm and 1.30-4pm;Saturday November 2, Frome Library 10am-12pm;
Thursday November 7, The Welsh Mill Hub 4pm-7pm;Sunday November 17, 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm The Welsh Mill Hub.
The final workshop will take place on Wednesday November 26, 4pm-7pm at the Town Hall to add the finishing touches to the wonderful lanterns.
Could you help on the evening? Frome Town council are looking for volunteers to help with various roles such as helping to set up stalls, handing out carol sheets to making sure people know what's happening and where to go. If you think you could help, email [email protected].
Finally, this year, Frome Town Council along with Frome Chamber of Commerce, are encouraging Frome's businesses to take part in late night shopping evenings in the run up to Christmas.
Taking place on Thursdays December 5, 12 and 19 businesses will stay open until 7pm allowing residents and visitors alike to shop in the superb array of bespoke shops - watch this space for further details.
