Japanese tradition wont be spreading to Frome

KFC in Frome has put up its opening hours for over the festive period confirming that it will be closed on Christmas Day.
Some places in the town will be open on December 25 - including the Indian restaurant on Stony Street.
Several pubs are offering takeaway Christmas lunch including The Bath Arms and Archangel, but The George hotel in the centre of the town has put on its web site that it will be closed.
There is hugely popular tradition in Japan for eating the fast food chicken bucket on Christmas Day itself. Like so much it began with a marketing idea - back in 1974, KFC started an advertising campaign : Kurisumasu ni wa Kentakkii, or Kentucky for Christmas
Now an estimated 3.6 million Japanese families treat themselves to KFC and reportedly it accounts for around one third of the fast food company's yearly sales .
