Campaigners who want to see improvements to the River Frome have today taken photographs of dead fish - the result - they say - of a pollution spill from slurry-based farming systems.

This is the second time in five years that the River has been polluted and while not apparently as serious, there have been fish deaths.

The campaign to protect the River told Nub News there are a lot of dead fish in the river below Edmund Park and Knights Maltings. The Environment Agency are down near Wallbridge Mill today again, pumping oxygen into the water while the source of the pollution has been traced and stopped.

You can read about Friends of the River Frome reaction to the pollution here: the Frome Nub News site

If you see any dead fish the Friends of River Frome are asking people to call the Environment Agency Pollution Hotline which is 0800 80 70 60.
