Lovely to see a traditional town fete in Frome as Victoria Park basks in the sunshine

By Susie Watkins 10th Jun 2023

Everything a traditional fete should have - a dog show, bric a brac, a town band in the band stand and LOTS and LOTS of smiling faces.

There were also some novelties - forget a coconut shy, Frome youngsters enjoyed trying to knock off some turnips. There was also a dragon and for naughty children the stocks, as well as the ever popular Lions train, who cared if it only went around the park?

And in spite of the forecast for thunderstorms, the weather held which was extra good news for the over 25 charity stalls at the fete, who were doing a brisk trade.
