Mayor making ceremony in Frome : Not content with a mere plaque Frome's biggest mayor now has a cocktail to his name

Most mayors are happy to have the odd plaque to honour their work, or perhaps a tree. But since Frome does things differently and the town mayor is a tower of a person in real life, he has, obviously, gone one step higher.

Frome Town Council Mayor Andy Wrintmore, has his own cocktail, crafted by the team at the Flow Bar in the town and named, quite simply, The Mayor.

Andy himself helped craft the flavours used, which include his favourite spirit, and the cocktail team helped him perfect it.

The Flow Bar Frome mixologists make a version of Boulevardier containing the Mayor's favourite Jack Daniels, Chamborde and Campari - plus a twist.

Frome Nub News went along to see expert cocktail maker Konnor Gulliver craft the drink - and then watch it being drunk by the Mayor - by way of thanks for putting the town on the map.

Andy Wrintmore - who callers to the Town Hall now ask for by his first name - has made a mark not just locally, but the punk-rock- drumming big man has featured in Kerrang magazine, and in The Mirror and The Sun newspapers.

Doing it differently seems to caught the public's imagination.

As for other Frome specials the bar has a cocktail to celebrate Deadly is the Female shop at the top of Catherine Hill, a Watson's to toast the local gym, the Ramshack after the barbers and, perhaps a contender for most famous Fromie, after Andy, the Jenson Button chocolate cocktail.
