What are you asking from Santa this year?

Well Santa here over Critchill wants common sense to prevail as he and his elves have been told they do not have planning permission for the North Pole cabin (which they moved temporarily for the festive season to Frome) .

Back in the summer the application was rejected and a follow up decision on the cabin is due tomorrow (December 5).

The little helpers of Santa have issued this statement: " We've been navigating a planning application process since the start of the year, aiming to do things by the book. Unfortunately, the council denied it on sustainability grounds, citing a lack of public transport and a lone local complaint."

The festive team at Critchill Estate, which is where the Frome footballing youngsters train insist that : " We take our commitment to sustainability seriously. Our dedication to offering quality keepsake gifts over plastic toys is a testament to this. Plastic consumption weighs heavily on our environment, and we're passionate about minimising that impact. "

Organisers say if planners once again give the cold shoulder to the cabin, they will be heartbroken but will appeal again.

" So this year's Grotto will be fine, but its next year's and onwards that is in danger, Please come and visit. We ARE open right now and can't wait to see you."
