New play tower at Egford Park open for fun

By Lucy McMahon 10th Feb 2025

A new play tower in Egford Park opened to the public on Wednesday 29 January.

Designed by Bristol-based Green Play Project and installed with the help of the Frome Town Council's ranger team, the tower replaces one that had deteriorated with age.

Seven-year-old Gilbert and ten-year-old Joseph were among the first to test out the new facilities.

Gilbert's verdict: 'I think it's pretty decent'.

Joseph said 'I enjoyed it, it's got a nice view…the rugged style of the planks I like. And it's much less dirty'.

Cllr Mark Dorrington said: 'It's great to see another play space in Frome refreshed and invigorated. Usually we think it's a shame when something is worn out and needs replacing; in the case of play equipment, it's to be celebrated!

"We hope many more generations of children will enjoy playing at Egford Park."
