New proposals for Market Place will be discussed tonight (August 4) at the Frome Town Council meeting at 7pm.

Councillors were at the market cross for two days last month getting a sense of what residents might like to see at the site.

They brought in temporary seating and greenery at the Boyle Cross and reported that the idea of mobile furniture seemed to be welcomed, although some were concerned that sitting with your back to traffic was a bit nerve wracking.

The future of the next stage of market place work has already lead to many comments on social media on the main Frome page, particularly about the traffic through the centre of town.

Several comments were about how many people now cross the road by the banks now that the railings have been taken away.

One comment was : " Driving through town is worrying now - SO many people dodging the cars to cross the road (mainly from the new, empty, paving area where the cross is) over to The George."
