A local video production company, Frome based Lux Films is ensuring Covid-19 doesn't take away the family fun of panto this year by working with The Great British Pantomime Company to bring Goldilocks and the Three Bears to living rooms and schools this December.
Families and education settings will be able to buy a pass which gives them a unique code to watch the pre-filmed show during December, all in-line with Government regulations.
It features an original musical score, amazing special effects, comedy sketches, interactive competitions, and all the ingredients of a traditional family pantomime. There will also be plenty of opportunities for shouting out, singing along and all the audience participation that comes with a normal live Pantomime.
Of course, it would be lovely to see a panto in person as is a popular tradition for many families but this year, as you know, hasn't turned out how anyone expected.
But there are some unexpected benefits to it. It is more affordable, as you buy one pass for your family instead of individual tickets (£15), you can watch at a time that suits you (the code lasts for 48 hours), and it can be paused when someone needs to grab a cuppa or snack, no more disturbing the whole row and missing parts of the show!
For school's, taking children to a live panto can cost £10 per student add to that travel, insurance and refreshments and they could be looking at £1000+.
However, with The Great British Pantomime, they can get access for the whole school for £350 if booked before 24th October or £450 if booked after. A personalised message from a cast member will also be provided to show the pupils before they watch the main event, which can include birthday shout outs. Each child will also be sent an activity pack to keep as a memento. For the school's, the code lasts for five days and can be either watched by all pupils if using a shareable screen in all classrooms simultaneously or each classroom can watch it at their own suitable time. LuxFilms, based at The Old Church School offices, have many years experience in filming and editing events in all corners of the globe. During the current situation, they have enabled businesses to continue customer, staff and marketing events by taking them online, producing stunning video content and broadcasting it on virtual platforms, around the world to over 70,000 people. LuxFilms will be shooting the panto in high definition exclusively for streaming purposes and are really excited to be bringing the magic of theatre to living rooms and schools across the country this festive season. For more information click HERE: the Great British Pantomime site
