Anyone fancy giving bowls a go?

A special Bowls Jubilee Day will be held at Frome Selwood Bowls Club in Frome on Saturday 4th June.

Part celebration, part member appeal, the Bowls Day will start at Victoria Park, on Butts Hill in Frome at 2pm.

Members are being asked to wear red, white and blue, but the games will be lawn green bowls, so everyone is welcome. Just wear flat shoes, the club will provide the tuition and refreshments.

There will also be Jubilee Tea after the game with a raffle.

Vice captain Vera Ford told Frome Nub News; " We have been established in Frome for over 100 years and take a lot of pride in our club but sadly the pandemic has lowered the numbers of our members.

"We have a licenced bar for refreshments or just a cup of tea. This would be a great way to advertise our club as well as we need more players to join."
