Students from Writhlington School and the Somerset Studio School are hard at work in the school orchid propagation labs preparing to train international partners from Borneo.

Sixth form student Jonah explained "we have a group of students and teachers from Kuching, and members of the Sarawak Orchid Society coming to the school in July to learn about orchid cultivation and conservation."

The trip is funded by the Chief Minister of Sarawak and aims to support continued conservation efforts in Borneo.

Year 8 student Florence who will be part of the team training visiting pupils said "I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with other students and doing something serious to save the planet."

The public will be able to visit Writhlington and see the work of both the UK and Sarawak students in July.
