The Met Office has warned of rain showers and a thunderstorm later today (July 24), but Frome will miss the worst of the storms predicted for this weekend.

The Met has issued two yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms for the weekend, starting from last night Friday. The focus for this warning is over southern England and Wales, although some central areas are also covered.

There's also a risk of large hail falling in a few locations and where heavy downpours occur, up to 35 mm could fall within an hour, bringing a possible risk of flooding.

But for Frome, the latest weather forecast is for frequent showers, interspersed with calmer weather, and then only the possibility of two storms this evening, and temperatures no higher than 21c.

According to the weather office, the unsettled theme looks set to continue early next week, with the current forecast showing some more persistent rain for much of the UK.
