Planning news in and around Frome this week:

And plans for a solar farm, said to be associated with Selwood Garden Village, has been withdrawn. The application was for land at 378350 146398 Birchill Lane in Frome for outline planning application for a Photovoltaic Solar Park with all matters reserved. Details under 2021/1862/EOUT.

A retrospective application is in to Mendip planners to put external timber decking in the rear garden at The Full Moon Inn on Rudge Lane in Rudge near Frome. Details under Ref. No: 2022/0461/FUL.

Planning decisions made by Mendip this week include:

Planners have agreed to plans to convert an attic at the Montessori Nursery at 9 Palmer Street in Frome. Fronting direct to Palmer Street the nursery currently has a play area to the back, and ground and first floor classrooms along with a kitchen and cloakroom. The changes will increase floor space available by 37 square metres.

Planners have approved, a Non-material amendment to planning consent 2021/1790/FUL ( which is for the conversion and extension of two existing redundant buildings to a new dwelling) at Yew Tree Farm on the Old Wells Road in Chantry. Approved : plans to build a two storey rear extension at 66 Nightingale Avenue in Frome. Also approved: The building of two and single storey side extensions and a garage at Brick House Farm on Millards Hill in Trudoxhill. Planners have ruled as lawful an application to demolish and replace an existing UPVC conservatory with a single storey extension at 21 Fairfield Rode in Frome. They have approved an application to build a single storey side extension and first floor rear extension at 1 Egypt Cottages on Top Lane in Mells. And in Beckington they have approved plans to build a detached garage and new garden shed at Clifford House at 21 Bath Road.
