Planning news in and around Frome this week:

Prior approval has been sought for a proposed change of use of agricultural building into a home (Class C3) and for associated operational development for a building at Row Lane Laverton Frome t BA2 7RA. Details under Ref. No: 2020/2646/PAA

An application for a non-material amendment to permission 2020/1187/HSE to change the external finish at Oldford Hill House on Cuckoo Lane in Frome has been made under Ref. No: 2020/2609/NMA

An application has been put in to cut down a self sown Sycamore tree growing out of wall and to cut down an Ash at 2 Portway in Frome. That application is under Ref. No: 2020/2605/TCA.

In planning decisions made by Mendip:

Prior approval has been given to an application to demolish an existing lean-to building and build a new porch and put up reclaimed railings at the listed building, Oriel Lodge at number 11 Gentle Street in Frome. The look is, planners were told, as close as possible to how the building would have been in the past and is a homage to the building's history.

There is no lawful objection to plans to convert a loft into bedroom accommodation, including a dormer roof extension at 20 Victoria Road in Frome.

Approved with conditions a first floor extension above an existing garage/studio; minor alterations to window location on the ground floor and a new bathroom window at first floor of north-east elevation at Kaylow on Rosedale Walk in Frome.

Also approved with conditions, plans to remove a single storey conservatory and build a new single storey rear extension at

19 Christchurch Street East.

Also approved with conditions plans to convert a detached garage into a liveable annexe at 3 Monmouth Heights Frome.

An application by Babington House at Vobster Cross for extensive tree works including removing the beech trees on the avenue leading to the boutique hotel just outside Frome has been withdrawn.

Planners have ruled as lawful the building of a single storey rear extension, at 6 Wickham Rise in Frome .

A retrospective application to create a new drive way at Cedar House Buckland Down Buckland Dinham, has been approved with conditions.

There is no objection to reducing the height of a Birch tree at

57 Somerset Road in Frome.

An application to fell an Ash and Hawthorne at Antares 1C The Cedars Frome has been declared to not need prior approval.

There is no objection to an application to reduce the height of a Lime at Number 28 The Retreat in Frome.

There is no objection to pans to demolish an existing building and build a new four bedroomed house at Court Farm, on Buckland

Lane, in Great Elm.

And an application to build a rear extension at 6 Wickham Rise in Frome has been declared lawful,
