In planning news in and around Frome this week:

On Butts Hill the motor works are going to be given a spruce up, after an application to replace the existing steel doors and brickwork was approved with conditions. The South West and North West sides are being replaced with double-glazed windows and timber doors. Planners were told : " The proposal will modernise the existing property which features old, dated features that are in need of renewal. The proposal will result in a visual enhancement of the property, replacing the

old materials with new. The proposed change from white to grey render would be appropriate to the location." The postcode of the site is

BA11 1HS.

There are additional landscaping details in on planning consent 2015/1944/REM which involves work at Eastgate Buildings on Christchurch Street East in Frome .

There are some planned tree works at 5 Bridge Street in Frome.

Ref. No: 2020/2653/TCA .

There is an application for work on Ash trees on Holes Lane to Tents Hill in Mells, those are under Ref. No: 2021/0002/TCA.

Planning decisions made over in the Mendip planning department:

Approved with conditions, an application for a single storey front extension at 4 Homefield Close in Beckington, that's at postcode BA11 6SX.

And the work at the old Selwood Printing Works on Caxton Road in Frome BA11 1NF moves on. An application for approval of details reserved by condition 9 (remediation scheme), in regards to plots 1-7 only, from planning consent 2015/1392/OTS, has been approved.

The first planning approval for the former Butler and Tanner print works in Frome, an application to demolish the old factory buildings to build a redevelopment, was made back on June 18, 2015. This latest application is to record that the developers have replaced the top soil with fresh uncontaminated soil to a specified depth on the first seven of the plots.
