In local planning news, planners have approved the installation of 120 solar panels at Selwood Manor in Frome.
The application, for the site at Jacks Lane in Spring Gardens (under reference: 2020/1481/FUL) was backed by the parish council and was given approval today (May 5). The panels will be using the latest high-efficiency PERC cell technology which commits to ensuring high levels of power production even under low light conditions.
Other planning decisions resolved by Mendip this week include:
They have agreed to plans to reduce by the crown of a Cherry tree at
52A Catherine Street in Frome. They have approved with conditions an application to reduce the height of a Horse Chestnut at 7 Rodden Road in Frome and have decide there is no objection to plans to cut back a Hornbeam, a Beech and a Sycamore at the same address. And planners have no objection to an application to reduce a Tulip and reshape a Magnolia at the Garden House at number 30 Fromefield. There is no objection to plans to fell a Magnolia to ground level at West Hill on Top Lane in Mells. No objection to the application to fell an Ash tree on land to the North of Barrow House at Kings Court in Chewton Mendip. And no objection to reductions in tree heights of a Eucalyptus and a Willow at 5A Orchard Street in Frome.Approved with conditions, the homeowners at 62 Locks Hill in Frome want to reduce the height of their London plane tree.
Approved with conditions an application to dismantle an Oak tree, due to very advanced decay, at 28 Preachers Vale in Coleford.
