Planning news in and around Frome this week:
And in case you missed it, an application for the digital advertising board which was going up at the station approach has been revised and the company behind it have said they will re-instate the original paper panel on the site.
They told Nub News:
In response to feedback from residents Wildstone has decided not to implement the express consent for the digital billboard (LPA Ref: 2022/2286/ADV) at the above-mentioned site and instead to reinstate the paper and paste panel formerly located on the site.
I can confirm that a revised application for the reinstatement of the panel has now been submitted to Mendip Council. The application seeks consent for an externally illuminated paper and paste panel and was submitted via the planning portal under the reference PP-12017460. The application should be validated by the Council in the next few weeks.
In line with the approved consent, the application proposes a number of planning conditions to control the advertisements operation including the following:
- turn off illumination between 22.00 to 06.00;
- limit brightness levels; and
- to use dark sky compliant luminaires.
