The outside furniture at Frome Community Hospital has had a make over thanks to the Frome Men's Shed and the Friends of Frome Hospital.

Judith Rawlings, who volunteers at the hospital looking after some on the outside spaces, contacted the Men's Shed to see if they could help restore our weary looking tables, chairs and benches.

They have spent the latter part of the summer sanding and painting and the final results look wonderful! Colin Pearce from the Men's Shed said the request had come in with perfect timing as his wife had recently been treated in the MIU department and he wanted to give something back after the care and attention she received.

Melissa Book, Senior Administrator said "The furniture on the patient and staff balconies at the hospital has been looking sad for quite a few years, so to have Colin and the team come in and spruce it up was great.

"We intend to put it away for the winter and then in the spring we hope to have some plants and bulbs in the pots and have a lovely space for everyone to enjoy. Judith and her husband do a wonderful job keeping our little gardens around the hospital looking pretty and I know they will do the same on the balconies. Matron Pete and I would like to extend our thanks to everyone at the Men's Shed who took the time to come and help, and to Judith and The Friends of Frome Hospital for their support."
