Local man celebrates his 100th birthday with thanks from local Co-op society
Local man Geoff Weeks has reached the remarkable milestone of turning 100 this month, and joked that a dram of whiskey has played a part in his good health.
In honour of this special occasion, Radstock Co-operative society CEO, Don Morris, and the board of directors president, Graham Jeffery, paid Geoff a visit at his home to present him with a variety of gifts from Radstock Co-operative Society.
Geoff began his journey with Radstock Co-operative Society at the age of 14, delivering milk on one of its milk carts.
The society said Geoff "showed dedication as a member of our Dairy Farm Team", served "admirably" on the board, and was a spirited player on the Co-op Football Team.
Upon retiring, Geoff embraced golf and received several trophies over the years.
Nowadays, he finds joy in solving crossword puzzles.
The celebration of Geoff's 100th birthday was held at Fosseway Golf Club on Saturday, featuring music, a buffet, and the company of his family and numerous friends.
When asked about his secret to reaching 100 years of age, Geoff humorously mentioned enjoying a dram of whiskey with a hint of peppermint and a pipe before bedtime.
