The water company has put lights into Bath Street Frome, as it repairs a length of sewer which has apparently been blocked and has cracked.

So if you thought you could smell sewage along this stretch of main road, which goes down to Market Place in Frome, you were not mistaken.

Wessex Water say that the problem is along 26 metres of the sewer, which does have cracks in it and downstream where it has a: " Build up of blockages."

The company is currently (October 19) working on the side of the St John Ambulance building but will later head on down to 21 Bath Street.
