After the success of its recent Food & Drink Festival the Royal Bath & West Society is gearing up for the return of the Royal Bath & West Show, now just five weeks away (30th May-1st June).

The show has seen many changes over the years, with organisers keen to strike a balance between offering new attractions and maintaining the favourites - without which it just wouldn't be the same!

For the traditionalists there will be regular attractions such as the Pony Club Games, Heavy Horses, Showjumping and Vintage Vehicles in the Main Ring; the Sports Village and, Lakeside Farm. This years' main ring entertainment is provided by the Jamie Squibb Freestyle Motorbike Stunt Show.

Some regular favourites have been enhanced in recent years to keep visitors returning, such as the Horticulture Village which underwent a transformation last year. It returns this year with another Pop-Up Gardens Competition, this time focusing on sensory awareness and sustainable living. David Domoney of ITV's 'Love Your Garden' will be available to answer horticulture questions, alongside fruit and vegetable growing expert Jess Gough (Happy Smalholding) and Lara from the 'Skool Beanz' children's gardening club.

Another area which has undergone significant change is food and drink, always a favourite part of the Royal Bath & West Show.

The Great British Kitchen was introduced in 2021 and has proved popular, with well-known chefs performing cookery demonstrations over the three days. This year the show welcomes Clodagh McKenna, Rosemary Shrager and Andy Clarke to the stage, promising a wide variety of dishes to recreate at home. Visitors on the first day of the show will also be able to learn some tips from Rachel Khoo, who will be demonstrating dishes on 30th May.

The new attraction for 2024 is the 'Bark & West'. Dedicated to pets, it will feature trade stands, an agility ring, and displays from show favourites Pawsability Dog Agility.

With all this and much more besides, including an appearance from Love Island's Farmer Will on Saturday and a performance from The Wurzels on Thursday, the Royal Bath & West Show is a great value, fun-filled family day out. To book tickets, visit www.bathandwest.com
