A Royal Navy Bomb Disposal has attended Frome Recycling Cycling today (August 28) after a suspect item, believed to be a grenade, was found.

According to workers at the recycling centre, the item was found in a bag on top of a skip at the recycling centre, and it is currently not known who brought the device in. The centre was closed to the public and workers at around noon today.

The item is believed to be a cannister-style grenade and the bomb disposal unit arrived a couple of hours after the centre was closed, to make the device safe.
