Students from Sexey's School in Bruton were delighted to tread the boards for the first time in four years with their stage production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical JR.

The school's talent gave a truly dazzling performance during the two performances last week.

Headteacher Helen Cullen said 'To prepare for an audition, rehearse and perform takes great courage and resilience. This cast and backstage team have come together and shown great support and encouragement for one another.'

'It was lovely to see students come together from across a range of year groups with a common purpose of providing us an evening of entertainment. A true reflection of the family environment we foster and grow at Sexey's School.'

She added 'As is often the case behind every great show is a great woman and we are truly blessed with Mrs Kiddell as our Head of Drama and the inspiration, support and encouragement she provides her students. I know that Mrs Kiddell would like to join me in thanking all the students, parents and staff who have helped and supported her in this performance'.

The school would like to thank everyone who came along to see one of the performances and support their students.
