Somerset Art Week Open Studio is underway and Frome has a particularly impressive offering, in particular a variety of inspiring work at the Silk Mill studios.

We were charmed with the intricate work of Daniel Morley, a self-taught artist who has been shortlisted for two national art awards.

You can hear how his works are inspired, and see his intimate works on tiny pieces of reclaimed wood. They sit alongside bigger print works which are created using a long lost plate form - they need to be seen.

There is something for all tastes as the artists throw open their doors, with more at Black Swan Art in Frome, as collectively over 300 artists explain their creative process in over 200 studios and spaces across Somerset.

For full details of all the shows and venues click HERE : the SAW site, with the studios open until October 3

Somerset Art Works is a registered charity and membership organisation and is part of the Arts Council England's National Portfolio of funded organisations for 2018-2022.

And the young people's patron of the charity is local author Jasbinder Bilan, who Nub News interviewed when she visited Radstock during the launch of her latest children's book. You can read about her and her work by clicking HERE : and what gives her inspiration

And an early date for your Christmas diary, The Silk Mill Collective will be hosting a Christmas Art Fair, from December 4-5 at the gallery on Merchants Barton, with sales of paintings, jewellery, fashion and ceramics.
