The whole town will be going green
The whole town will be going green

Today is the official start of the town's Big Green Week.

The Town Council is keen for everyone to know that of the 50 events of 39 of them are completely free.

On Saturday alone there's:

home improvement advice

a bike ride for all the community

a plastic free tea

jewellery repairs

community composting.

Frome Nub News is particularly taken with the idea of making your own immunity-boosting tonics - unfortunately that one is already sold out - and how the local sewing shop and firm favourite Millie Moon is offering to help you re-purpose those outfits you no longer wear.

All the details and how to book, on the Frome Town Council site HERE : where you can find all the events

This November the UK is hosting a major UN climate summit, known as COP26, where politicians will set out how they plan to fulfil their promise of reducing greenhouse gases across the world.

A nationwide event, The Great Big Green Week provides the perfect opportunity to show decision makers that people from all walks of life are stepping up to take action on climate change – and we need them to step up too.

As part of the week the Town Council is inviting local residents to create art, poetry and stories to deliver Frome's message to the leaders of COP26. Tell us why you love our green spaces, our planet and the action you want to see from our leaders to protect it. Please bring your creations to Frome Town Hall where they will be displayed throughout Great Big Green Week.
