In a letter to parents and carers, Frome College has announced that it is unlikely to be open for three days in March due to strike action.

Industrial action is being carried out by the National Education Union (NEU).

In the letter, the Principal said: "At the moment the strikes planned are going ahead on a national scale on the following dates: • Thursday 2nd March • Wednesday 15th March • Thursday 16th March Given the numbers of staff who are eligible to strike, it is highly likely that the normal College day will be disrupted and students will not attend College on these days. "

However the college will be open for some key exams including mock exams and for SEND pupils.

The College noted: Aspire will be open on all strike days • Places at College on strike days for children of key workers can be booked through [email protected] • Places at College on strike days for children linked to the Hub can be discussed with the SEND team through [email protected] • Pastoral staff will be in contact directly with other families who we feel will benefit from attending College on strike days • Year 10 Controlled Assessment for Health and Social Care will go ahead on Thursday 2nd March students to arrive at 8.45am • Year 13 mock exams will go ahead as planned the week commencing 13th March - including those mocks scheduled for the two strike days that week
